About

“Transmedia” and “cross-media” IP development is on the rise, which leads to many creating opportunities in this space without the experience to develop and execute transmedia strategies properly. We at Spoondrift have been working in the transmedia space long before it became a buzzword, and know how to combine tested and new ideas to find the perfect approach for each individual IP.

Beyond the transmedia aspect, we specialize in horror and horror-adjacent content. This may include genres like dark fantasy, thriller, mystery, dark comedy, sci-fi, etc. To us, this focus is essential, as the horror genre comes with very distinct characteristics regarding audience, industry structure, and storytelling.

Linking into our horror specialty is the belief that horror art can make the world a better place. From displaying relatable perspectives to creating empathy around foreign perspectives to providing escapism from the doom and gloom of the real world, the horror genre hands us tools to deal with the world. For this reason, we also work closely with academics, researchers, and scientists to explore the psychology of responsible horror consumption.

“Each IP is telling a different story, building a different world, so no two transmedia strategies should be the same. Especially in horror, a genre not just about fear, but about the things that matter.”
